This document explains the steps to install product It is divided into the following each parts.

Release information on this product is stored in HTML format under info/ in the directory where the package is installed. Be sure to read it carefully with your web browser.

A special file is also stored into info/ so that you can refer the product name and product version. This file consists of the output from gversion for each file prepared in the package. (gversion outputs the last modified date even for such a non-executable file as library or source code, as well as the output from "ls -l".) The last six-digit number in the file name indicates the release number of the product.

(Example) ide-XXX-080000.lst ; IDE for XXX Release 8.0.0

Moreover, a template file used for technical support by e-mail can be found under info/. You can use it to contact us for a technical communication.

Please delete all the previous versions beforehand when you install new versions in the same directory. There is a possibility of the malfunction when the overwrite install is done without deleting it.

GHSlm (Green Hills License Manager) can be configured through web interface and uses port 80 by default. If web server is working on your server host, it may be a trouble because the www port (port 80) may be used and overlaps with GHSlm listen port.
In such a case, please change the port number which GHSlm web interface uses in the following way.

1. Launch "MULTI License Administrator (mlmadmin)" on your license server.

2. Choose "Perform licnese administration tasks" and click "Next" button.

3. Choose "Configure Server on Local Machine" in "License" menu.

4. Input the port number which GHSlm web interface uses into "WWW Port:" field in "Server Settings" menu. If entering '0', web interface is disabled.

5. Click "OK" button after a setting is completed.

By the setup mentioned above, the port number which GHSlm uses will be changed.

Please refer to the "MULTI: Licensing" manual for more detail.

Please re-invoke a License Manager (lm) after installing the license when you add or modify a newly floating license.

Setup the environment variable on your client HOSTs:

• Please set the "GHS_LMWHICH" to "ghs" value.

  % setenv GHS_LMWHICH ghs

• When you purchased a floating license:

  On your client HOSTs, with environment variable, you will have to select the server host on which the license manager is working.

        Variable Name:  GHS_LMHOST
        Variable Value: @{Server_Name or IP_address} 
  
        (Ex.) setenv GHS_LMHOST @myserver
      

• 32bit shared library

  An installer and a GHS tool require a shared library for 32bit.

Note that the installation steps may vary depending on the product media.
The super user privilege is necessary for the execution of the installation. And device name specified here may vary depending on the system. Contact your system administrator, if you are not sure of the device name.

- When "CD_install.sh" exists in a top directory of the CD-R:

1. Please invoke the CD_install.sh in the CD-R. And, please enter some information according to the message.

   (Ex.) % /cdrom/CD_install.sh

- When "CD_install.sh" does not exists in a top directory of the CD-R:

1. Create a directory to copy the package. This directory can be used not only as a temporary use but as a target directory for the installation.

   (Ex.) % mkdir /usr/green/XXX.V505

2. Change the current directory to that directory.

   (Ex.) % cd /usr/green/XXX.V505

3. Install a package (product.tgz) by using the "gtar" command.
   (You can find out "gtar" command in CD-R:/utilities/)

   (Ex.) % /cdrom/utilities/gtar --no-same-owner -zxvf /cdrom/product.tgz

After completing the installation, please read the "How to be licensed on Linux version" section.

Protection is set to our products. Therefore, you need to set up a license after installation. Please follow the procedure to get a license file and then set up the license.

• Request of the License File:
  1. Please change the directory which installed the product.

     (Ex.) % cd /usr/green/XXX.V505

  2. Invoke the licinfoe.sh in the directory which installed the product then enter some informations according to the message.

     (Ex.) % ./licinfoe.sh `psw`

  3. We need some informations such as the your server code. licinfoe.sh generate the template file to request license file. Please fill each item such as a Name, Division, Company, Product Serial #(enter all the serial numbers for applicable products), etc. into this template file, and then send it to the following mail-address via e-mail.

     Purchased at Asian area: license@adac.co.jp
     Purchased at US, EU area: license@ghs.com

• Installing the License File:
  1. Our company replies mailing the license file (***.lck) within 2 business days after receiving your e-mail. If you get this e-mail then please store it in the package installed directory.

  2. Please invoke the 'mlmadmin' utility.

  3. Please select 'Install license from a file.' and then click 'Next' button.

  4. Please select a licence file (***.lck) in the file browser and then click 'Install' button.

     When the installation is completed, the message "The licenses have been successfully installed. ..." is displayed.

  5. Please click 'Quit' button, to terminate the 'mlmadmin' utility.

  6. When the floating licence is used, it is necessary to invoke the license manager. Please operate the following steps.

     Please invoke the 'lm' license manager on a back ground.

     (Ex.) % lm &

[ Common items ]

• You must be a user with an administrator's privilege to install, uninstall, or reinstall on Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7.

• Setup the environment variable on your client PCs:
  • Please set the "GHS_LMWHICH" to "ghs" value.

  • When you purchased a floating license:

    On your client PCs, with environment variable, you will have to select the server host on which the license manager is working.

        Variable Name:  GHS_LMHOST
        Variable Value: @{Server_Name or IP_address} 
          

  • How to setup the environment valiable:

        Windows 98/Me:
    
            Please add the command below in autoexec.bat.
    
                 set GHS_LMWHICH=ghs
                 set GHS_LMHOST=@{Server_Name or IP_address}

            And then please reboot PC. 
    
        Other Windows (2000/XP/Vista...):
    
            Please set environment variable below with menu item.
    
              "Control Panel" -> "System" -> "Environment Vriables"
    
                 Variable Name:  GHS_LMWHICH
                 Variable Value: ghs
    
                 Variable Name:  GHS_LMHOST
                 Variable Value: @{Server_Name or IP_address} 
                                 (Ex.) @myserver or @192.1.2.3
          

[ Configuration to use GHS tools on Windows XP SP2 or later ]

When you invoking GHS tools on Windows XP SP2 or later, a Windows Firewall Security Alert dialog box will be appear. The window prompts you to choose an option. If it is shown, please select "Unblock this program".

[ When you invoke the license manager (excluding Windows 98/Me) ]

Please set the firewall of the port that the license server uses as follows.

1. Click "Windows Firewall" in the "Control Panel".
2. On the Exceptions tab, click Add Port.
3. In the Add a Port dialog box, type the number of the port, 2009, and then click UDP.
4. Type a name for the port, and then click OK. For example, type "GHS LM UDP".
5. To view or set the scope for the port exception, click Change Scope, and then click OK.
6. On the Exceptions tab, click Add Port.
7. In the Add a Port dialog box, type the number of the port, 2009, and then click TCP.
8. Type a name for the port, and then click OK. For example, type "GHS LM TCP".
9. To view or set the scope for the port exception, click Change Scope, and then click OK.
10. On the Exceptions tab, notice that the new service is listed. To enable these port, click to select the check box next to the service, and then click OK.

This section explains the steps to install this product.

1. Set Install Media onto the drive.

2. Select Optical Disk Drive in Explorer and double-click setup.exe. Then follow the instructions to install.

• Please do not install the product in the folder whose name has the space between letters. (Ex. "C:\Program Files\green")

• If a dongle is provided with the package, connect it to a parallel port (or connect it to a USB port) on your PC.

  Drivers Install wizard window is appearing when you insert the USB port. Please operate it according to the wizard window.

  If your OS is Windows 98/Me, you need to reboot Windows.

Setup the License:

  Never forget to connect the dongle before invoking licinfoe.bat, if you have.

  1. Invoke the licinfoe.bat in the folder which installed the product then enter some informations according to the message.

     (Ex.)	DOS> cd C:\green\XXX.V505
     	DOS> licinfoe.bat

  2. We need some informations such as the your server code. licinfoe.bat generate the template file (lic-request.txt) to request license file. Please fill each item such as a Name, Division, Company, Product Serial #(enter all the serial numbers for applicable products), etc. into this template file, and then send it to the following mail-address via e-mail.

     Purchased at Asia area: license@adac.co.jp
     Purchased at US, EU area: license@ghs.com

• Installing the License File:
  1. Our company replies mailing the license file (***.lck) within 2 business days after receiving your e-mail. If you get this e-mail then please store it in the package installed folder.

     When your PC is Windows Vista or later, please right-click on the 'mlmadmn.exe' icon and select "Run as administrator".

  3. Please select 'Install license from a file.' and then click 'Next' button.

  4. Please select a licence file (***.lck) in the file browser and then click 'Install' button.

     When the installation is completed, the message "The licenses have been successfully installed. ..." is displayed.

  5. When the floating licence is used, it is necessary to invoke the license manager. Please operate the following steps.
     1. Please return to "MULTI Licensing Wizard" window on the 'mlmadmin.exe' utility.

     2. Please select 'Install or Configure license server software on this machine.' and click 'Next' button.

     3. Please select 'Install a Green Hills License Server on this machine.' and click 'Next' button. And then click 'Back' button.

     4. Please select 'Configure the Green Hills License Server on this machine.' and then click 'Next' button.

     5. Please click button in order of 'Start' 'OK' on the "Server Settings" window.

  6. Please click 'Quit' button, to terminate the 'mlmadmin' utility.

If you purchased a floating license, refer "MULTI: Licensing" (license.pdf) to know details about the license manager.

Using "hostid.exe" is not shown as "ID(K):0x....", please check below. (Start from 1 below, in order.)

• In case of using dongle for USB port
  1. Dongle is not connected or loose contact

     Please check whether it is connected properly.

  2. USB dongle driver (pandora.sys) is not installed correctly.

     After uninstalling the product, open Windows "Control Panel" -> ("System") -> "Device Manager", uninstall "Pandra key" in "USB Keys" and re-install the product.

• In case of USB dongle is not detected in Windows 7

  In Windows 7, sometimes message "Device driver software was not installed successfully." appears when USB dongle is inserted. In this case, please update the driver software as below.

  1. Open "Control Panel".
  2. Launch "Device Manager".
  3. Right-click "Other Devices" -> "Unknown Device", select "Update Driver Software...".
  4. Choose "Browse my computer for driver software".
  5. Click "Browse" button next to "Search for driver software in this location:" pull-down, specify "USBdrivers\Win32Bit\USBdongle" folder (or "USBdrivers\Win64Bit\USBdongle" for 64bit Windows) in Install Media or tool directory.
  6. Then driver install will be started.
  7. If "The best driver software for your device is already installed" windows appears, once remove current driver software (as below) and then update the driver.
     1. Launch "Device Manager", right-click "Pandora Key" and select "Uninstall".
     2. "Confirm Device Uninstall" window appears, select the "Delete the driver software for this device." checkbox, then click "OK".
     3. If driver uninstall is completed, open "Device Manager" window again, click "Scan for hardware changes." button, or remove the USB dongle and re-insert it to USB port.
     4. Repeat from item 2 above.

  8. In "Update Driver Software" window, if message "Windows has successfully updated your driver software." and "Pandora Key" are appeard, driver install is successful.

  9. Then open "Device Manager" again, confirm "USB Keys - Pandora Key" is successfully detected.
